Bring Your Dog to Do Dah Day!
There are many great spring and summer events here in Birmingham, really close to The Madison at Shoal Run Apartments. Being a pet friendly community in Birmingham is just another way for residents and their families to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19, is the Annual Do Dah Day event at Caldwell and Rhodes Parks. Do Dah Day is a great event for dogs and owners in Birmingham. Do Dah Day is Birmingham’s oldest event. Beginning in 1979, people got together to celebrate and raise money for various Birmingham charities.
Today, residents of The Madison at Shoal Run can enjoy family fun, live music, and activities with their pets! Since 1992, Do Dah Day has raised over $1.3 for Jefferson county animal shelters.
Kids can enjoy face painting, hair weaving, and more in the kids area! This year, enjoy a great live music line up at both Caldwell and Rhodes parks, including music from The Turn, Paybacks, and Sheriff Simmons. Don’t miss the pet parade on the 19th! Registration begins at 9:01am, at Highland Avenue and 33rd Street. The parade begins at 11:01am. Dress up your dog to walk in the parade!
Have you participated in Do Dah Day? How did you and your family enjoy it? We can’t wait for this year’s pet party!
